This is an attempt to transfer visual information form a watercolour to a collagraph. possibly not possible.

Printed this yesterday at home on the xcut xpress. The mountain is an acrylic drypoint and the background was rollered ink on an old photo litho plate. Both plates went though the press together. It is a varied edition in that I have printed 4 at this colour and one paler. I will experiment with other colours later.
I will be printing collagraphs on the xcut xpress at Angus Design and Build on Saturday - come and see.
Printed the last Fife village for now. So that is Pittenweem, St Monans, Crail and Cellardykes. And started on harbours - Latheron wheel which is up on the North East coast on the way to Wick
This is the intinerary of my road trip in our campervan - pretty full on. Here is the van I collected images mainly using watercolour in small handmade sketch books Lighthouses Distilleries Pictish stones castles villages harbours Cliffs some from Duncan's boat! and of course mountains
Now all I have to do is make them into plates and print them. The first print from the road trip - St Monans - same genre as Crail and Cellardyke. I am currently working on the plate for Pittenweem. Also printed Plockton reflections and Sligachan from images collected on an earlier trip I have been playing with images of Loch Morlich for a few years now. I printed a few more of the above image which I made last February on my xcut xpress.
Then I made a new larger plate which I printed at Edinburgh Printmakers. |
