I got the inspiration for this print sitting on the terrace at the Bird Centre North Berwick watching gannets. I have since made various collagraphs featuring gannets and Bass Rock. The small image shows how it looks framed (IKEA Ribba)

Swooping around the rocks

I made this collagraph after a visit to the Isle of May. When you get off the boat in summer you have to run the gauntlet of arctic terns. You then walk along the path where they sit on their nests serenely looking as though butter would not melt in their beaks. Whatever their behaviour they are beautiful birds.

I won first prize in a competition "On my Patch" run by the Lothian branc of the Scottish Ornithologists society with this print togetherr with the wren print.
