Well it appears that the exhibition Mouth of a Shark in Cork is actually going ahead this July so I have decided to make my final print..
Picture
This will be a drypoint of a t shirt - pvc engraved with a dremmel. I laid the pvc on the t shirt  and traced the shape, stitching etc.
Picture
Next I assembled all the images I wanted on the t shirt. This t shirt "bears witness" to the experiences of migrants crossing the channel. There are migrants in the water, there are empty life jackets - a signifier for drowned migranst, there is a Border Force boat. In large letters "Welcome to Great Britain, an image of Napier Barracks - where many end up, Priti Patel welcoming, and of course 2 Union Jacks which have to be flown everywhere now.
Picture
I taped off the areas that I wanted shading in and rubbed the PVC with sandpaper.
Picture
I then used the Dremmel to make the lines. I rubbed the blade with pencil lead to check my details. I am booked at Edinburgh Printmakers workshop to print this on silk on Wednesday.

If it works it will join the rest of my pieces on a clothes line. To see the description of the whole installation go to https://www.lindyfurby.co.uk/protest-art.html.
