Disaster Plate

I made a collagraph plate of St Abbs. However it all went horribly wrong. I used my dremmell to engrave some of the lines - and I simply applied too much pressure. The result was that the lines were too deep and the paper simply could not reach the ink - result - white lines - which is an interesting result and can be used on another occasion when I want white lines. However they were not wanted this time. I tried all sorts of things to no avail including using black ink - which I practically never use - and it just resulted in a dirty dark print. I have no idea why I thought it would work.
Ho Hum - I like the image and I have spent a lot of time trying to work out a good image for St Abbs - so I will just have to make the plate again. I still have the tracing paper for the image.
