I am continuing with my project of reviewing and replacing prints - with the emphasis on trying to improve upon the image. This image has been developed from a watercolour sketch from the Diabeg road across Loch Torridon through the trees - at the exact point that the road became so steep I fell off my bike (controlled fall).

This is the sketch

This is the previous print - interestingly - my newer print is more precise and cleaner - the older one is more painterly and actually a better composition. So was there improvement?
These are the two plates. I printed the mountains first and then trees.

Mountains tiling cement. Trees cutting and peeling the board and carborandum. Undergrowth scrim.

The first time I had difficulties with registration - the second time I made bleed prints - no need for registration - cheating Ha!

The palette - toothbrushes save ones fingers from being worn away by carborandum - doesnt do the toothbrushes much good. The brayer was for a red rollover on the undergrowth.
