So I have my plate - a combination of these 2 watercolour paintings. Now I have a dilemma - which colourway to go with - Not a problem I usually have, as usually I only have one watercolour - this has been further compounded by the fact that the longer painting was painted on pre-prepared paper - i.e. there was colour already on the paper. And of course - I have plenty of time to swither - in fact Ive been swithering for the last 2 days!

The first  trial print - the first trial print is usually a bit of a car crash as it takes a few prints for my collagraph plates to start working. I am trying out the purple/yellow colour way. The ferns in the foreground (moss) are tooo green.

Trial print 2 - the ink for most of the plate is applied with either toothbrushes or a la poupee (cloth) and then wiped - the ink for the sky and water is rolled on - you can see the roller marks here which is not necessarily a bad thing - but I don't like it. I can and do soften such roller marks with a cloth.

This would do - but have decided to try the other colourway

Think I prefer this

Or this - the bracken/bushes in the foreground is now too brown. Still swithering watch this space.
